Security Updates
Security updates are tested on multiple platforms and are based closely on Microsoft released security updates. Radiant Systems repackages the security updates to avoid adding files for functions not already included in the images, unless they are new OS files.
Security updates are listed in reverse order in 6 month groups for the convenience of users. Every 6 months, a ‘roll-up’ security update is released that contains all previous security updates except for those made obsolete. Instruction documentation is included with all security updates.
Prefix Definitions:
- KB indicates a Microsoft security update that was never issued an ‘MS’ code.
- MS indicates a repackaged Microsoft security update.
- RS indicates a Radiant Systems issued security update. Radiant Systems security updates add specific functions that might not be included in all images.
Testing:
Security updates should first be tested in a lab environment or deployed to a small number of locations. Following successful testing, security updates can be deployed enterprise-wide.
